Hunter Skill Guide
Overview
The Hunter skill allows players to:
-
Collect resources like fur, meat, feathers, and bones
-
Process materials through drying and tanning to produce usable leathers
-
Defend against poisoned foods or create them for tactical use
The system expands on classic 2004scape hunting by adding:
- Resource multipliers
- Automation tools
- Tiered processing
- Poison detection & survival mechanics
Core Mechanics
Calculations: Hunter combines Ranged + Fletching + Firemaking + Cooking
Systems: Skinning, Drying, Tanning, Poison Checks
Multiplier Logic: Extra resource yields at high Hunter levels
Animal Resources: Feathers, Fur, Meat, Hides, Bones
Leather Tiers: Higher furs = stronger leathers
XP Gains: Hunting, Drying, Tanning, Poison Resistance
Tools: Ledger of Deeds + automation support
Resource Multipliers
Hunters gain better yields as their Total Hunter Level increases:
These multipliers apply to all resources: feathers, meat, fur, and bones.
Example: Chickens may drop 8–12 feathers instead of 2–3, while bears may provide multiple hides, meat portions, and bones.
Animal Drops
Chickens: Feathers, Raw Chicken
Rats: Rat Meat
Wolves: Wolf Fur, Bones
Bears: Bear Meat, Bear Fur, Bear Hide, Bones
Drying & Tanning Mechanics
- Fur must be dried before tanning.
- Tanning produces usable leathers and gives Crafting XP.
- Success rates improve with Hunter level.
Poison Food Mechanics
Hunters can both create and detect poisoned food:
Result: Higher Hunter levels mean survival against poisoned food, while lower levels risk heavy damage.
XP Gains
Hunting Tools & Strategy
Automation: Supports bulk hunting, drying, and tanning
Ledger of Deeds: Tracks your Total Hunter Level, shows multiplier status (2x / 4x), and logs poison detection events
Closing Note
Track, tan, and test your survival.
The Hunter skill is the backbone of survival — combining combat, crafting, resource mastery, and poison resistance into one progression path.
